With Thrifty Traveler Premium, we send the cheapest domestic and international flight deal alerts – including award deals to use your points and miles – straight to your inbox, tailored to your home airport. Among the many amazing ways to use Venture Miles, why not use a few thousand to travel more for even less?
Here's how you can use Capital One Venture Miles to completely cover the cost of a Thrifty Traveler Premium membership.
Use Venture Miles to Cover Your Premium Membership
First things first, if you aren't a Thrifty Traveler Premium member, you'll need to join by heading to the Premium homepage.
Once you're ready to check out, make sure that you pay with a card that earns Capital One Venture Miles like the *venture x*, the *capital one venture card*, or even the no-annual-fee *capital one ventureone*. Once you're done, it should take two to three business days for the transaction to hit your card account.
Once your transaction hits your account, you'll be able to use the Capital One Purchase Eraser to cover the charge with Capital One Venture Miles. Using Venture Miles that way, each mile is worth 1 cent towards travel. After purchasing an annual Thrifty Traveler Premium subscription, you'd need just 9,999 Venture Miles to remove the $99.99 charge.
To do it, simply head to your Capital One online account and click “Redeem” next to your mileage balance.
From here, select “Cover Travel Purchases.” This allows you to cover any travel purchase you make with your Venture card.
Then you’ll be taken to a page where you can select which travel-related purchases you’ve made on your Capital One Venture or Venture X card that you’d like to “erase.” This includes all travel transactions from the last 90 days.
If you are an existing Thrifty Traveler Premium member, you'll want to head to the Thrifty Traveler Premium login page and make sure your Venture Card is the card on file for your payment if you want to use Venture Miles to cover the annual membership fee. Once your next payment is due, it will charge to your Venture or Venture X card – making it eligible to be removed with Venture miles.
Got the *venture x*? One of that card's benefits makes this deal even better. Starting in your second year, you'll get 10,000 Venture Miles as a bonus for renewing each and every year. Those 10,000 miles will be more than enough to cover your Thrifty Traveler Premium membership every year.
