Are you a Delta flyer with with a Delta co-branded American Express credit card in your wallet? American Express just rolled out a new Amex Offer to help you save on your next flight: Spend $500 or more with Delta Air Lines, and you'll get $100 right back as long as you book your flight before December 31.
Delta and Amex team up for money-saving offers like these every now and again – but typically, they're highly targeted. Luckily, this one seems to be widely available so long as you have a Delta SkyMiles co-branded credit card.
To see if you're targeted, log in to your account and sift through the full list of available offers. To make things easier, you can type the keyword “Delta” into the handy search bar at the top of the list of available Amex Offers.
If you see this one available, be sure to add it to your card ASAP! Once a certain amount of cardholders add an Amex Offer like this to their cards, they tend to disappear altogether.
If you haven't used Amex Offers before, you can think of them as digital coupons exclusively for Amex cardholders for purchases like airfare or hotels to dining, entertainment, or everyday shopping. Add this one to your Delta card, use that card to book a Delta flight, and Amex will give you money right back for the discount within a few days as a statement credit on your account.
If you've got this one, add it to your Delta Card and use it to make your purchase by December 31, 2024. You don't need to travel before that deadline – just book your flights beforehand. Your flight must also originate in the U.S.
Thrifty Tip: Still need to use the annual companion certificate that you get with your *delta skymiles platinum card* or *delta reserve card*? Use this Amex Offer to make your BOGO flights even cheaper!
Where to Find Amex Offers
If you're unfamiliar with finding Amex Offers, simply log into your American Express account and scroll down near the bottom of the screen and there should be a box called Amex Offers & Benefits. It’s available through the Amex mobile app as well.
If you see an offer you like, simply add the offer to the card and make a qualifying purchase at that business with your card. You should receive a statement credit for the offer within a few days of making a purchase, though in some cases it can take several weeks. And keep in mind you don’t need to hit the spending threshold in one shot – you can spread it out over several transactions.

Bottom Line
This Amex Offer is a great way to save on upcoming Delta flights, getting $100 back when booking Delta flights of $500 or more. And unlike many previous Delta Amex Offers, this one seems to be widely available – but only to Delta American Express cardholders.
If you're targeted for it, be sure to add it to your card ASAP as these Delta Amex Offers have disappeared quickly in the past.
I have three AMEX cards and I don’t have it on any of them
Delta Reserve, Delta Platinum and Amex Platinum
Thank you for posting this! I went to my DL Amex Platinum, and sure enough, there it was. Went ahead and added the offer. Question: after reading the terms, it looks like you can use the credit on seat upgrades- so could I use this on an upgrade from Main Cabin to Premium Select on my upcoming LAX-AKL flight?
Glad to hear you have the offer! We believe that should work. The charge just has to come from Delta, which a seat upgrade obviously will.
I never get the good offers. And also the fact that Amex limits you to seeing only 100 offers at a time really reduces the value and ability to take advantage of offers to get the best value out of annual fee. As you guys have pointed out quite recently, it seems the goal is to make redemption of offers as difficult as possible for cardholders.
Not on my Delta Reserve card.
Long time card holder. Went through both Amex and Delta.com today and did not see offer.
Keep in mind, unless you use a 3rd party app you can only see 100 AMEX offers at at time. As soon as you ass an AMEX offer to your card another one pops up in it’s place. (But you have to refresh your page). With that being said, that offer could….. just not be there or… just a few offers away (Like offer 108) that just have not loaded yet.
I hope this helps
Other then BBuys, this is the only AMEX offer I’ve used. Most AMEX offers are from places I have never heard of, Not near me or could afford. This is a great treat from AMEX/Delta and I grabbed it right away and will be spending it soon. This was only available on my Delta Reserve Card.
None on our 2 Delta Platinums. Probable because our zip code puts us in captive Atlanta
I received a Delta offer of $120 cash back if I spend $600 but I must book a round trip ticket(s) and my flight must originate from LAX or SEA and arrive in various airports in Hawaii only.
Thanks for the heads up!!! Just saw this on my Blue Cash Preferred! Spouse has a companion pass at Delta. Anyone know if he could book and pay with my BCP, or does he have to pay with his Delta (no offer there, of course)?
You should be able to pay with your Blue Cash Preferred – the only requirement when using a Companion Pass is that you pay with an Amex. Typically, any Amex will do.
I saw this offer on my Amex Green card, and promptly added it; Delta is my preferred domestic airline, and I currently have the Delta Platinum and Gold cards [cancelling the latter this year]. However, I’ve not flown it that often recently because I’ve been redeeming business class award flights elsewhere, so I’m kind of a weird data point. Want to fly Delta a lot, but haven’t needed to. I’m flying Delta exclusively in the near term because of expiring 2020 eCredits, a similar 2021 Delta Amex offer that I successfully got as an eGift card, and a few Delta gift cards gained from Chase Offers [Office Depot].
Used a similar offer but flight has now been changed and I need to cancel. If I am credited back to Amex will they claw back offer money? If so, is it best to take ecredit? Thanks
It’s unlikely, but taking the ecredit will be the safer play.
An Amex Rep told me it was limited deal and it was maxed out right away.
Nope. I have a Delta Amex and no offer for me.
Just checked and unfortunately we didn’t get it (Delta Platinum AMEX and Delta Blue AMEX). Too bad as this is a great deal.
Very strange. I added the offer to my card yesterday (10/14/21) will the expiry date of 12/31/21. By the evening when I checked my card account again, the expiry date became 10/14/21! And of course it’s gone today (10/15/21) before I got a chance to book a flight.
I’m excited to find it! I have a couple of flights I want to book on Delta for next Thanksgiving. It sounds like I can book before Dec. 31st and hopefully the flight schedule for next Thanksgiving will be available by then. If I book the flights can I change the dates or will there be a change fee?
As long as you don’t book basic economy fares, you will be able to change them or cancel them for a voucher.
Am a member of Premium, have 3 Amex cards including Platinum and Delta…cannot, find on my Amex website?
Hi Anni,
This is a targeted offer from American Express. That means it unfortunately will not be available for all cardholders.
I have 2 Amex cards including one I have been using for 15 years and I am never targeted for these great deals. So sad…
Thanks for the heads up on this! It’s still not appearing for me 🙁
but at least thanks to you I got in on the 8x Amazon offer.
TT FTW!
Great to hear, Adam! Hope you are well.
I have been checking for this offer since TT 1st posted it like a week or so ago, this offer is still not available DELTA sky miles GOLD card
i have the same problem, was excited but not offered for delta gold… bummer
Hi Kyle,
As soon as I read your piece, I went to the AMEX site to load this offer, but of course, it was not offered. There were plenty of others but I found this one to be most desirable.
I did not find this offer on the American Express website.
Sorry to hear!
Awww man! I just purchased two tickets from MPLS to L.A. for $163 about 2 days ago. Should I cancel and then rebook to get this offer?
You could, but…
-Check to make sure you have the offer first!
-Keep in mind that if you cancel, you won’t get a refund – you’d get a voucher for the value of your ticket. So you’d have to use those vouchers separately as well.
