After years of anticipation, we now have a date for when Mexico's first Park Hyatt location will open. The Park Hyatt Los Cabos at Cabo del Sol recently began accepting reservations for stays beginning Aug. 1, 2025. However, it remains to be seen if that date will stick – hotel opening dates are really tricky to get right due to unforeseen construction delays.
Set in a tried-and-true tourist destination, this brand-new 5-star resort property is located in the exclusive community of Cabos del Sol, situated along the coast between the cities of San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas.
The resort will have 163 guest rooms, including 88 suites and three ultra-luxurious villas, complete with kitchens and their own private lap pool. Meanwhile, the hotel's suites boast of features like private plunge pools, and patios or terraces with breathtaking views of the resort of the Sea of Cortez.
The resort is outfitted with everything you'll need to have a relaxing stay, including access to world-class golf courses, poolside cabanas, and a beach club.
For the health-conscious traveler, there's a 59,000-square foot wellness center equipped with a serene spa (and nail salon), 24-hour fitness center, yoga studio, and lap pool.
There are five dining options onsite ranging from the resort's signature restaurant featuring Mediterranean-inspired cuisine to Mexican street food. There are also a couple of poolside bars and a bodega coffee shop for your morning caffeine fix.
While this property will be perfect for couples looking to have a romantic getaway, family travelers will no doubt appreciate that the Park Hyatt Los Cabos features a “Camp Hyatt” kid's club. This means you can drop the kids off for a day of fun while you lounge by the pool or get in a round of golf.
Ready to book a stay for yourself? Prepare to pay for it. Park Hyatts are the hotel chain's top brand, so it's not shocking that cash rates here are averaging $1,000 per night. Ouch!
But fortunately, you can use points to book a stay here instead of paying that high nightly rate. This new Park Hyatt is a Category 8 property in the World of Hyatt program, meaning a free night here will cost between 35,000 and 45,000 points per night, depending on whether the date is designated as peak or off-peak.
Finding award availability here could prove to be tricky but as soon as space opened up, our Thrifty Traveler Premium Hotel Alerts subscribers were the first to know about it.
If using points to book a stay at a luxury property like this something you're interested in, adding Hotel Alerts to your Thrifty Traveler Premium membership for $24.99 per year would be a wise move!
Bottom Line
The Park Hyatt Los Cabos is now accepting reservations for stays beginning Aug. 1, 2025. With point redemptions available for as few as 35,000 points per night, this brand-new luxury hotel on the Baja Peninsula would be the perfect place to put your World of Hyatt points to good use.
