Good news for travelers with the top-tier *chase sapphire reserve* in their wallets: The Chase Sapphire Lounge at Phoenix (PHX) officially opened its doors for business Tuesday morning!
It's the bank's fourth U.S. location – and that's not even counting the Chase Sapphire Terrace in Austin (AUS) or the lounge Chase shares with Etihad at Washington, D.C.-Dulles (IAD). Travelers won't have to wait long for more another Sapphire Lounge: Another location in San Diego (SAN) is scheduled to open Dec. 6 – plus, Chase says even more are coming in the New Year. Keep reading for more details!
All these Chase lounges are run in collaboration with Airport Dimensions, the same group behind “The Club” family of lounges that Priority Pass members can find throughout the U.S. But Chase has upped the ante for its own lounges: With chic designs, complimentary food and drinks, and a touch of local flair, Sapphire Lounges are a big step above your typical airport club.
Read on for full details on the new Sapphire Lounges in Phoenix and San Diego … and find out which ones are coming next.
Now Open: Phoenix (PHX) Chase Sapphire Lounge
The Chase Sapphire Lounge at Phoenix Sky Harbor is located in the new eight-gate Terminal 4 South 1 Concourse, near the D gates.
That location means it'll be most convenient for travelers flying Southwest, as the airline calls that concourse home. But if you're flying American Airlines or one of the other carriers calling T4 home, you can still easily access the lounge from the North Concourse by walking across the connector bridge.
Now for the bad news: At just over 3,500 square feet, this Phoenix lounge is tiny – easily the smallest Sapphire Lounge to date. Heck, it's even smaller than Amex's Centurion Studio Partner Escape Lounge on the opposite side of the terminal.
Time will tell, but with such a small footprint, this lounge could easily suffer from the overcrowding that's plagued some of its competitors. Here's hoping I'm wrong…
Still, this lounge features many of the same details that have made other Sapphire outposts, like the ones in Boston (BOS) and New York City-LaGuardia (LGA), so popular. Inside, you'll find panoramic views of the tarmac through the lounge's ribbon window, comfortable seating, and artwork inspired by the area's dramatic southwest landscape.
The focal point of the new lounge is no doubt the centerpiece bar – sure to be a popular spot for travelers looking to beat the Phoenix heat with a cold drink. If you're in need of a pick-me-up, you'll find them serving Press Coffee, an Arizona-based specialty coffee roaster.
When it comes to food, this new Sapphire Lounge features a retrofitted Airstream food truck with a curated menu from local Phoenix restaurant, the larder & the delta. That's a fun touch – and a far cry from the traditional buffet you'll find in most airport lounges.
Another unique feature of the Sapphire Lounge in Phoenix is its indoor “patio” offering on the airport's concourse. While most airports try to incorporate the outdoors into their lounge designs, Phoenix's brutal summer heat would make that largely unusable for much of the year.
The Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club at Phoenix Sky Harbor is now open daily from 4:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
San Diego (SAN) Lounge Opens Next Month
The Phoenix outpost won't be the newest Chase Sapphire Lounge for long: The San Diego (SAN) Chase Sapphire Lounge is set to open on Friday, Dec. 6.
Travelers will find this location in San Diego's Terminal 2, on the third floor (mezzanine level) between Gate 46 and 47. At more 10,000 square feet, this location will feel downright palatial compared to its predecessor in Phoenix.
As such, it'll feature some of the more unique amenities that we've seen Chase introduce at other lounge locations. For starters, there's a whole “rest area” complete with private rest pods, on-demand digital meditations, and facial treatments from Face Haus … all of which are very on-brand for a lounge located in Southern California.
Once again, Chase is leaning heavily into the local influence for its decor. There will be custom surfboards designed by local muralist Hanna Daly and a digital wall featuring drone footage of California's Pacific Coastline.
You'll also find San Diego-flair in the food and beverage offerings, with an a la carte menu curated by Oscar's Mexican Seafood and coffee selections from Groundwork Coffee – both local to Southern California.
The Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club at San Diego will be open daily from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
More Locations Coming in 2025
But wait, there's more … more Sapphire Lounges, that is!
We've long known that Chase was also planning to open Sapphire Lounges in Philadelphia (PHL) and Las Vegas (LAS), but now we have an updated timeline:
- The Philadelphia lounge is aiming to open sometime in early 2025 in the Terminal D to E connector
- The Las Vegas location will be opening in mid-2025 in Concourse C
More recently, we found out about a planned Sapphire Lounge in Los Angeles (LAX). This location appears to be next up on the list after Philly and Vegas, though a more definitive timeline for this location isn't being shared just yet.
Finally, Chase is opening a pop-up lounge at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas on Nov. 16. This limited-time lounge experience will allow Sapphire Reserve cardmembers to pop in for food from celebrated restaurant Momofuku and cocktails from popular speakeasy, Apotheke.
With so many new Sapphire Lounges opening – plus the access to Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounges and Cafes last month – the Sapphire Reserve is becoming more of a threat to *amex platinum*‘s title of “Best Card for Lounge Access.”
How to Get In
Now that you know where to find them, here's how you can get in:
- The bank's flagship *chase sapphire reserve* cardholders get unlimited complimentary visits to Chase lounges thanks to their Priority Pass memberships, along with up to two free guests each and every visit
- If you've got the Ritz-Carlton Card from Chase – a card you can't outright apply for anymore – you'll also get free access to Chase Sapphire lounges for yourself and an unlimited amount of guests
- Travelers with a Priority Pass membership from other cards like *amex platinum* or the *venture x* get one free pass into a Chase Sapphire Lounge each calendar year – and not at each Chase location, but one total across the entire U.S. network of lounges
- After that one-time entry, travelers with Priority Pass can purchase day passes for $75
- Priority Pass members won't get free guests, either – they'll have to pay $75 apiece, too
- Day passes to the Chase Sapphire Lounges are available to any traveler for a steep of fee $100 per person – though that figure may vary as future locations open
- Got a *chase sapphire preferred*? No luck: You'll have to pay the full $100 for a day pass
- You can only get in before departure – not upon arrival. And Chase restricts entry to just three hours before departure, though the lounge may make exceptions if you're making a connection through one of these airports

Bottom Line
The Chase Sapphire Lounge in Phoenix is now open and another location in San Diego will soon be joining the ranks. And if all goes according to plan, two more more locations in Philadelphia and Las Vegas should also be open by the middle of next year, bringing Chase's roster of flagship lounges to eight and counting.
