Years after announcing its hybrid airport lounge-restaurant concept, Capital One has officially opened the doors to its first Capital One Landing at Washington, D.C.'s Reagan National Airport (DCA).
The long-awaited Capital One Landing at DCA opened Tuesday, providing both a sit-down dining space and grab-and-go options for Capital One cardholders and non-cardholders alike. The food and beverage program is spearheaded by award-winning celebrity chef José Andrés and his José Andrés Group, with made-to-order Spanish-style tapas and drinks delivered directly to your seat.
Capital One Landing is located in the National Hall of Terminal 2 near Concourse D. It's open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, while the to-go counter, dubbed “On the Fly,” is open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
With a seating capacity of just 90 guests at a time, the space isn't huge by any means. At 5,500-square-feet, it's barely half the size of Capital One's full blown lounges in Dallas (DFW) and Denver (DEN), and significantly smaller than the lounge across town at Washington, D.C.-Dulles (IAD). But the design and furnishings are akin to Capital One's other lounges, with power outlets at every seat, nooks to store your luggage, private restrooms, and lush textures and warm colors throughout.
Although anyone can pay to access the new Capital One Landing, only cardholders with a *venture x* or *venture x business* will get unlimited complimentary access, plus the option to make reservations up to six months in advance in the Capital One app.
Capital One first unveiled its plans for Capital One Landings back in 2022, although details were scarce at the time. Would it be a smaller airport lounge or a full-service restaurant – or both? Now, we know. And Capital One isn't stopping with DCA: a second Capital One Landing, also in collaboration with Andrés, is expected to open early next year, at New York's La Guardia Airport.

Tapas & More Before Your Flight
Spanish-style tapas are the star of the show at the culinary-focused Capital One Landing at DCA. Visitors will be able to order small plates and drinks via a QR code which will be delivered directly to their seats, much like a traditional restaurant.
With quality ingredients such as Spanish breads and olive oils sourced directly from José Andrés Group's trusted purveyors – including jamon straight from Spain – Capital One is aiming for an elevated dining experience that travelers would be excited to try anywhere, not just in an airport terminal. The menu includes a variety of traditional Spanish dishes including pan con tomate, pincho de tortilla de patatas, gambas al ajillo, croquetas, and more.
Plus, there will be “interactive” carts at various times of the day – a mimosa cart in the morning featuring orange, pomegranate, and pineapple juices; a cheesecake cart in the afternoon with accompanying fruits and sauces, and a gin and tonic cart in the evening featuring various gins, tonics, and garnishes.
Capital One Landing has a full-service bar, too, featuring a selection of wines and beers from both Spain and the greater D.C. area, as well as specialty cocktails.
The majority of food and drinks are complimentary with the exception of a few premium spirits and wines, according to a Capital One spokesperson.
To-Go Food … But You'll Have to Pay Up
A standout feature of Capital One Lounges is the grab-and-go section, where visitors can grab drinks sandwiches, salads, and snacks on their way out of the lounge – or if they're just stopping by briefly on the way to the gate. At the Dulles location, there's even a full service coffee bar you can access without fully going inside.
Capital One Landings has their own version called “On the Fly,” a quick-service counter where all travelers can order items to-go including breakfast items, sandwiches, and salads as well as snacks and beverages. But there's on crucial difference: these items are only available for purchase – they're not complimentary even for Capital One cardholders.
Travelers with a Venture X or Venture X Business card will get 50% off purchases at On the Fly, making it a great option if you're breezing through the airport – especially if you just landed.
Who Can Get in?
For the most part, the entry policies for Capital One Landings Mirror those of Capital One Lounges.
